  • ABSTRACT: In this paper we examine the equilibrium problem of a masonry cross vault and compare the results obtained by using a numerical procedure based on the finite element method with those obtained via classical methods. This comparison is aimed at checking the suitability of the model, as well as showing how the proposed tool enables analyzing any kind of vault subjected to any type of static load through relatively simple procedures.
