- This work proves that it is possible to use electron impact laboratory based set-up to characterize the fragmentation of dication using electron-ion cocincidence experiments. This allows a wider application of the technique, that previously needed the access to synchrotron radiation sources, that is limited by demand. (literal)

- A novel technique that allows teh study of site- and state-selective fragmentation of a molecule has been applied to invetsigate the fragmentation of the tetrachloromethane, which has been found to contribute the \"greenhouse effect\". The different break-up patterns have been characterized showing the production of the radical species as a function of the dication state. (literal)

- Abstract
- The formation and decay of dication states of tetrachloromethane has been studied in an electron impact experiment by Auger electron-ion coincidence measurements. The fragmentation following the Cl2p ionization has been studied in three different binding energy regions of teh dication between 33.5 and 48.5 eV. In the experimental data no bound stable or metastable CCL4(2+) states have been observed and teh fragmentation pattern of teh dications resulted to be strongly dependent on teh state and geometry of teh dication (literal)
