  • NOVELTY - Luminescent ytterbium doped gadolinium oxycarbonate compounds (I) with long persistence of luminescence are new. USE - (I) are useful in optoelectronics and in bio-imaging for diagnostic purposes. ADVANTAGE - (I): exhibit long persistence of luminescence (claimed); and are independent of the system temperature. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Luminescent ytterbium doped gadolinium oxycarbonate compounds of formula (I) with long persistence of luminescence are new. x = 0.002-0.08. (literal)
