- Abstract
- The grids generated in Task N1.IN1 will be used for the simulation of the flow past the hull with operating propeller by means of an hybrid RANSE-BEM approach. The numerical simulations will take into account the mutual interaction between the hull and the propeller, i.e. the propeller will operate in the real wake generated by the ship hull, which is in turn influenced by the revolving lifting surfaces. The pressure induced on the hull surface at the stern will be evaluated in the computation. Investigation regarding cavitation inception in the propeller region will be carried out. The simulation will be performed on different grid levels for numerical uncertainty assessment and the results will be compared with available experimental data from the EUCLID RTP 10.12 and data available from WP3 for validation purposes.
