Abstract
  • EMPATIC aims to achieve a significant impact on validating new learning paradigms and strategic thinking on curriculum reform by drawing together and valorising the results of previous Information Literacy initiatives and projects across the school, university, adult and vocational learning sectors and using this evidence to influence policy makers' perceptions and actions to support a marked increase in piloting and mainstreaming of Information Literacy. EMPATIC will provide innovative solutions by: Taking a political approach to Information Literacy for the first time. Focusing on policy makers as the key actors who can bring about change and convincing them that Information Literacy is a vital component of the future development of a people-centred, inclusive and development-oriented Information Society Effectively exploiting the results of previous research in Information Literacy for the first time Making the lessons learned and techniques developed by campaigners in other fields accessible to support and encourage advocacy by practitioners and others on behalf of Information Literacy The ambition is that this will pave the way for the extended piloting and eventual mainstreaming of information competencies in all levels of education and their integration in the reform of curriculum frameworks.   • EMPATIC è teso a rivestire un ruolo significativo nella validazione di nuovi paradigmi di apprendimento, nonché a proporre strategie di riforma curriculare attraverso la raccolta e la valorizzazione di precedenti iniziative di Alfabetismo Informativo nei seguenti settori di apprendimento: scuola, università, educazione degli adulti e formazione professionale. Tale evidenza sarà utilizzata per influenzare la percezione e l'azione politica al fine di migliorare significativamente la sperimentazione e il sostegno dell'Alfabetismo Informativo. EMPATIC si propone di fornire soluzioni innovative: affrontando per la prima volta il problema a livello politico, e cioè considerando i decisori politici come agenti chiave che possono portare al cambiamento, se convinti che l'Alfabetismo Informativo è una componente vitale dello sviluppo futuro di una Società dell'Informazione europea che sia inclusiva, centrata sull'individuo e orientata allo sviluppo; sfruttando in maniera efficace i risultati di iniziative precedenti, quali la European network on Information Literacy; prendendo esempio da campagne promozionali lanciate per settori diversi dal quello dell'Alfabetismo Informativo.
