- Abstract
- The Ancient Appia route crosses the Aurunci mountains at the St. Andrea Valley. On its southern side, the route track leans against a steep carbonate slope. Several rock blocks can be observed along the route track, their falling being a serious hazard to tourists safety and fruition. An hazard analysis was completed by adopting a probabilistic approach to determine rock blocks trajectories. Besides, rock failure debris were found within outstanding retaining walls, this highlighting the relationship between geological hazard and anthropogenic landscape modification. (literal)
