Abstract
  • This paper deals with problems of both molecular compounds and fine parti cles present as pollutants in surrounding environment. Criteria classification as defined by Italian law are presented in terms of exposure limit as the relc:vant parameter. Also a list of detection methods and detection limits is presented. This reference may help in the sensor strategy assessment for environmentill eonu-ot Finally a block diagram indicating the environmental evolution due to the possible energy transformation is bere presented and discussed in order to emphasise that pollutants do represent by-products of industriai processes. Our duty is to reduce as much as possible the concentration of these pollutants. Whatever the solution taken, sensors will always play a fundamental role for monitoring purposes. (literal)
