Abstract
  • A new generation of more intelligent CAD systems exploit the potential of features, viewed as abstract element that can associate a functional meaning to geometric and topological information within a product description. In this paper, a new method is proposed to convert a geometric model into a context dependent feature-based representation. In this approach,a primary description (called Shape Feature Object Graph) is maintained. The various viewpoint representations are created and maintained by a converter which makes use of context dependent feature libraries specified by the user through a teaching by example technique.
