Abstract
  • We have investigated the quasi-one-dimensional electron plasma confined in modulation doping In1-xGaxAs/GaAs V-shaped quantum wires. The band-gap renormalization is extracted from the optical spectra and compared to a suitably developed theoretical model. We find that band-gap renormalization is reduced in one-dimensional systems as compared to quantum wells (literal)
