Abstract
  • The precipitation kinetics of BaTiO3 was investigated using a 500 ml batch reactor. An acidic solution containing both cations was added to a NaOH solution at room temperature. A titanium-rich gel was instantaneously formed and the crystallisation of BaTiO3 occurred when the gel was heated above 70 °C. The precipitation process was modelled by a discretized population balance (DPB) approach for simultaneous nucleation and growth at unsteady state. A comparison between experimental and calculated data is presented. (literal)
