- Abstract
- One of the problems often encountered in the production of doped YAG ceramics deals with the distribution of the dopants within the material, including silicon used as sintering additive. SEM and TEM analyses on Yb:YAG ceramics showed that even a very limited formation of a crystalline or amorphous silicate phase with dimensions of less than 10 nm, may activate non linear loss mechanisms during the laser characterization at high excitation levels (literal)
