Abstract
  • Membrane crystallization (MCr) is an innovative concept related to the implementation of membrane technology in crystallization processes. Some important advantages make this methodology of growing interest: well-controlled nucleation and growth kinetics, fast crystallization rates and reduced induction time, membrane surface promoting heterogeneous nucleation, fine modulation of the level and rate of supersaturation, selection of polymorphic forms, extension of the MCr concept to antisolvent crystallization, and production of cocrystals.
