Salinity is one of the major environmental constraints on crop growth and production.
Minqin Oasis is an arid zone in the North-West China affected by salinization due to the soluble salts in the groundwater
The Oasis is at high risk of encroaching of the Tegger and Badai Jarad deserts.
The use of saline water is necessary to guarantee the subsistence of local farmers.
AIM
To evaluate with short and long duration measurements the effects of saline water irrigation on plant growth, physiological and yield response of a cultivar of Melon (literal)
