- Abstract
- Remote visualization is a key issue in many Grid applications and a demanding task both from the design and the computational point of view. For these reasons adequate algorithms and programming tools are necessary in order to face problems that arise implementing a remote visualization system for Grid architectures. In this paper we report our experiences in the design of components for a remote visualization system using ASSIST [18] a high level environment for parallel programming. The use of ASSIST is considered at two levels: the high level design of the system, and the implementation of a component for isosurface extraction. Performances of the ASSIST component for isosurface extraction are assessed in comparison with a C-MPI based implementation. (literal)
