• In order to achieve Net-Challenge’s objectives, a deep study had to be made, to evaluate the best methodology for this project and the current state of the art in the project RTD areas. This document starts with a characterisation of SME networks and types of collaboration, defining the concept of business network and presenting some major and currents concepts related with Networking, Coordination, Cooperation and Collaboration. For a deep understanding of the complexity of business networks’ relationships, their most common topologies and typologies have been identified. Regarding a complete characterization of knowledge management challenges, some comparison tables between traditional, enhancing and innovation networks are presented. Some frameworks about types of collaboration and their appropriate application (for each business type or scenario) have also been summarized. (literal)
