• This work focuses on research and aims at describing, at the level of research units and researchers, the effects of participation to the EUFPs considered here as policy instruments which contribute to the Europeanization of academic research. We study changes they trigger with respect to 1) Departments organization and activities, 2) the type of knowledge produced, 3) the ways of doing research, and we discuss them for different scientific fields through a case study. An institutional perspective and the concept of institutionalization are exploited. This pilot study shows that EUFPs do not trigger process of Europeanization rather they lead to very diversified institutional responses by scientific fields, strengthening leading participants but holding steady or tailing off less experienced ones. The lack of relevant organizational changes and incentives seems to strengthen these tendencies especially for some disciplines, and raises the need for decisions at the University level. (literal)
