  • This experimentation shows that it is possible to retrieve absolute phase values (and consequently the height of related targets in SAR interferometry) avoiding to carry out standard algorithms of phase unwrapping in the spatial domain. The improvement concerns a twofold aspect: the extraction of absolute phase values instead of relative increments; the overcoming of incongruences normally present in the field of principal phases, to specific angles of the ground slope with respect to the radar beam propagation or because of the electronic noise, obtained moving the phase analysis in the frequency domain. The success of this experiment in part depends from the exploitation of an airborne SAR interferometer, which allows to ignore atmospheric effects and time decorrelation effects, such as from the availability of a transmitted bandwidth of 400 MHz.
