  • ABSTRACT: Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) is a non-invasive technique for getting biochemical information on living tissues. Since the amplitude of the peaks in Magnetic Resonance (MR) spectra is proportional to the metabolite concentrations, obtaining the best Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) is fundamental for the accurate quantification of the metabolites. Multiple receiver coils, called MR phased array, can be used to maximize the SNR, appropriately combining the signals acquired by the array coils. The objective of this study is to develop an optimized approach for the signals combination in order to maximize the resulting SNR. (literal)
