- Abstract
- The impact of the polluted plume generated by the city of Manaus on the Amazon forest was evaluated by measuring the dispersion and reactions of several primary and secondary pollutants with aircraft flights. Data show that in a highly isoprene rich environment, ozone production is small near the NOX emission sources but dramatically increases at a given distance together with fine secondary aerosols formed from isoprene degradation.
