Abstract
  • The EMMA database gathers and curates extensive data on each mouse strain and presents it through a user-friendly website. The primary goal of the data curation work is to define and provide gene/allele and strain names/symbols, according to the rules defined by the 'International Standards of Genetic Nomenclature for Mice'. This enables cross-reference with MGI/MGD and IMSR databases and IKMC and related project databases (EUCOMM, EUCOMMTools, IMPC, etc.). Appropriate, up-to-date curation of genetic data and strain nomenclature is also essential for efficient access and use of EMMA-DB resources by requesting scientists. A BioMart interface allows advanced searching including integrated querying with other resources e.g. Ensembl, EuroPhenome, OMIM. Other resources are able to display EMMA data by accessing our Distributed Annotation System server. (literal)
