Abstract
  • MIST E-R is a laboratory of industrial research and technology transfer of the High Technology Network of Emilia-Romagna that is building an integrated manufacturing platform, based on micro-and nano enabling technologies, to guide the development of new products and new market areas for the regional industrial system, mostly based on SMEs. The company's structure includes the National Research Council (CNR), as a reference member, the Universities of Ferrara and Parma as well as seven regional companies operating in various manufacturing sectors such as, for example, packaging, aerospace, biomedical, safety and security. The MIST E-R laboratory has received an important financial support from the European Programme ERDF 2007- 2013 ROP and regional funding and it represents a successful example of Public Private Partnership for the development of the technological innovation of the SMEs. The technological platforms of MIST E-R are suitable for the fabrication of optical and electronic devices, complete microsystems (MEMS, MOEMS) based on inorganic and organic materials, as well as flexible and wearable electronics. With the aim to promote the introduction of innovative processes and devices, the Laboratory manages the set-up of pilot lines suitable for prototyping and small series production. The main objective of the laboratory is to develop research products at technology readiness levels ranging from TRL 1 to TRL 7. (literal)
