Abstract
  • This report presents the results of resistance and flow visualization performed on a frigate model named C.2578 according to the CNR-INSEAN code, in order to determine and compare the hydrodynamic characteristic of the ship with respect to a previous design of the same naval unit.The streamline survey on the surface of the model is performed by means of the coating technique. The paint lines are closely spaced in a fore-and-aft direction. In this way the wet-paint streaks, produced by the friction of the water on the paint, may be combined like short vectors that form path lines along the whole hull length (literal)
