- Abstract
- The GasPhase Photoemission beamline is devoted to the study of free atoms and molecules. The monochromator is a variable angle spherical grating instrument (plane mirror and spherical grating between the entrance and the exit slits), with an undulator as the source. The broad energy range (16-1000 eV), the high resolving power and flux together with the purpose buil end-stations make this facility ideal for investigating the spectroscopy and the dynamics of basic processes like inner-shell and multiple excitations and ionization, as well as for characterizing key processes in the atmosphere, in chemical reactions and in the preparation of new materials. The beamline and the end-stations are described and a selection of the results obtained in the first period of operation is presented. (literal)
