- Abstract
- A new system of internal magnetic coils is being implemented in the Reversed Field eXperiment Reversed Field Pinch (RFP). The global layout of the system has to take into account the peculiar characteristics of RFP plasmas and the integration with other internal and external measurements. The design of probes measuring fluctuations of different magnetic field components is described stressing how the requirements of thermal and electrical insulations are met. In particular, due to the large number of signals needed and to the limited space available inside the vessel, original solutions to minimize probe and cable dimensions were adopted. Thermal and electrical tests on prototypes were performed allowing, in addition, the validation of a numerical model for the study of the signal bandwidth. (literal)
