- Abstract
- The free surface flow around the bare hull of the ship will be simulated by means of the 2D+T approach with the SPH technique. The test will be focused on the analysis of the characteristics of an existing SPH solver, which exploit the 2D+T approximation. Both breaking and non-breaking conditions will be computed in order to assess the capabilities of the solver to simulate air entrainment and vorticity generation due to overturning waves. The data will be compared, after verification, with data from WP6 and with simulations obtained with a RANSE solver using a level set approach. (literal)
