- Abstract
- In the first semester, the experimental systems to study the vaporisation/combustion in high-pressure condition of BFO droplets and spray formation in engine-like conditions have been developed and set-up.
In the second semester, the activities regarding Task 5 (Fundamental behaviour of BFO in combustion) were dedicated to design and build up a second chamber to study BFO droplet combustion in high pressure conditions. Preliminary experiments at 1 bar, 4 bar and 8 bar have been also carried out in that period.
According to the timetable, the injection tests foreseen in the second semester of Tasks 7 (Engine tests), were completely performed. Visualisation of BFO sprays and endurance tests of the injection apparatus were carried out in conditions typical in Diesel engines. (literal)
