Abstract
  • The aim of this report is to present two different acoustic formulations able to predict the hydrodynamic noise generated by moving bodies. The enphasis is on marine propelle These formulations, based on the Ffowcs Williams Hawkings equation (FWHE) and the Bernoulli approach (BEA), are here compared theoretically and numerically to show their potentialities and drawbacks for solving sound radiation issues. Numerical applications include helicopter rotor blades operating in fully subsonic regime and marine propellers in non-cavitating flow conditions. (literal)
