Abstract
  • A LDV phase sampling technique is developed for the analysis of the velocity field behind a four blade propeller, for the case of a twin screw ship model in a large circulating water channel. The data analysis technique allows the reconstruction of the entire three-dimensional flow field for each revolution angle in a transverse plane located close to the blade trailing edge. The main features of the propeller velocity field are highlighted as well as the strong and complex interaction with the hull wake, especially in the regions downstream of the brackets. (literal)
