Abstract

• La variation de la distribution des patronymes peut être utilisée pour reconstruire les modèles de la migration humaine dans le passé et, donc, pour approfondir la connaissance du processus microévolutif. L'analyse de la distribution des patronymes en Italie a été conduite à différent niveaux de subdivision territoriale, considérant l'entière péninsule ou des zones d'intérêt particulier comme l'île de Sardaigne. L'analyse d'ensembles de données récents et anciens (du siècle dernier) a permis 1) d'obtenir des evaluations de taux d'immigration qui reflétent le degrée de développement économique des zones considerée et, donc, leur capacité d'attirer des migrants en des temps différents 2) de suivir les traces de l'emigration des individus d'une région à l'autre et de déterminer en même temps les facteurs géographiques, culturaux et socio économiques qui sont susceptibles d'avoir déterminé l'intensité et la direction du flux migratoire. • Variation in surname distribution can be used to reconstruct the patterns of human migration in the past and, hence, to enhance the knowledge of microevolutionary processes. The analysis of surname distribution in Italy was carried out at different levels of territorial subdivision, in the whole of the peninsula or in areas of particular interest as Sardinia island. Recent and past collections of data allowed us: 1) to obtain estimates of immigration rates accounting for the economic development of the different areas and, then, for their capacity to receive migrants at different times and 2) to follow the traces of individual emigration from a region to other regions identifying, at the same time, the geographical, cultural (linguistic) and socio -economic factors that could have determined the intensity and direction of the migration flow.
