Abstract
  • Growth of the two most important commercial species small pelagic fishes in Mediterranean (Engraulis encrasicolus and Sardina pilchardus) is reviewed in the various phase of the life history of these fishes. The impact of different assumptions regarding age determination and growth on natural mortality estimates and thus on population dynamics analysis is discussed. (literal)
