Abstract
  • Phys. properties of urea-formaldehyde microcapsules contg. an epoxy resin are presented and discussed. Microcapsules were prepd. by in situ polymn. of monomers in an oil-in-water emulsion. Differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric anal., and scanning electronic microscopy were applied to study thermal and morphol. microcapsule properties. Microencapsulation was detected by FTIR and Raman techniques. The amt. of encapsulated epoxy resin and the extent of urea-formaldehyde polymn. depends on the reaction temp. and the stirring speed.
