  • In May 2003 we visited the web sites of all Italian universities, limiting our attention to those which offered distance-learning courses, in order to analyse the quality of information provided by universities concerning their e-learning programmes; in May 2004 we revisited the web sites of the same courses with the aim of highlighting what kinds of improvements, if any, had been made in the presentation over the course of a year. In this paper we describe and compare the results of these two research activities. We conclude with some considerations concerning the information provided about online academic courses and the importance for universities of giving quality signals to potential students. (literal)

Abstract
