- Magnesium oxide thin films are attracting a great scientific and technologica1 interest due to their important applicative properties. As a matter of fact, MgO, with a cubic crystalline structure, is characterized by a remarkable chemical and thermal stability, a wide band gap and good electrical insulating properties. On this basis, MgO
thin films are attractive candidates fnr the production of protective and barrier layers, as well as substrates for oxide superconductor and ferroelehc ~nataidswhich are the basis for sophisticated devices. (literal)

- In this work, the deposition of MgO thin films was obtained using
bis(methylcyc1opentadienyl)magnesium [Mg(CH3-C2H4)2] as liquid precursor, at 400-550°C on Si(001) and quartz as subsbates. (literal)
