• ABSTRACT: This document represents the first deliverable of Task 3.1 in Work package 3. The objective of this task is to collect and summarize current efforts and achievements in areas of technology related to INTERMEDIA. Further research activities in the project can be planned based upon this document. State-of-the-art technology from this report can be applied, improved and combined in order to put the INTERMEDIA vision into practice. The main areas covered by this report are the following: content and metadata creation and management, content discovery and selection, content distribution, and content consumption.
