- Abstract
- This technical report consists in three major chapters. Chapter 2 outlines the state of the art of quad-control of 1-D sound events as developed at FSSG-CNR Labs. The control is based on a least squares approximation of the discrete solution of 3-D acoustic inverse problem already given in D7.5.2. Its operative implementation as interpreted here, leads to a redundant quad-control process which reproduces sound events offering the possibility of enlarging the listeners sweet spot area during playback. Chapter 3 reports about the implementation of an algorithm coded in MatLab® for approximating the inverse of non-minimum phase impulse responses. This is a useful tool that can be used in many sub-task related to the quad-control process and in particular for the fine calibration of p-v Microflown® probes. Finally in Chapter 4 practical recommendations for rendering the acoustic-quad playback with standard 5.1 loudspeaker systems using the DTS audio-video encoding are released.
In Appendix B a model and its process layout for precise calibration of pressure-velocity probes is reported. The resulting experimental setup has been designed and implemented by FSSG-CNR at the Physics Department of University of Ferrara and is here documented. (literal)
