Descrizione sintetica
  • The project aims at supporting policy makers and planners in European coastal cities, by exploiting the potential of marine environment particularly in terms of renewable energies. To reach this goal, the research will produce as main outcome: “The blue paper for the renewable energy exploitation in urban coastal environments” This tool consist of a set of guidelines, aimed at addressing policy makers, planners and designers in order to maximize the potential of renewable energies in coastal urban environment. The focus of the research is the relationship between technological features and cultural aspect of European waterfront. The reasons for a bilateral cooperation arise from the need to compare case studies in two very diverse coastal context (one in the Mediterranean area, one in the Northern Sea), in order to draw useful recommendations which can be transferred to any other European city. The added value of the scientific cooperation rests particularly on the need to test and verify the research findings in two different environmental contexts, thus enhancing the transferability potential.
