• The Risk Matrix 2000 (RM2000; Thornton et al., 2003) is an actuarial tool that was developed to assess the risk of sexual and violent reoffending among adult males convicted of sexual offenses. Thornton et al. (2003) validated the RM2000 on several samples of adult male convicted for sexual abuse from the United Kingdom; the AUC coefficient of the long-term predictive accuracy was found ranging from 0.74 to 0.81. The RM2000 was also validated in two North America samples, one of which from Canada (Kingston et al., 2008), and results provided preliminary support overall for the RM2000. (literal)
