- Abstract
- L'obiettivo principale della ricerca consiste nello studio dei meccanismi che regolano il differenziamento cellulare in funzione del suo ruolo fondamentale nel controllo della proliferazione cellulare e dello sviluppo del Sistema Nervoso Autonomo. In particolare, le attività della commessa si concentrano sui seguenti aspetti:
- caratterizzazione delle vie di trasduzione del segnale attraverso cui uno dei recettori accoppiati a G proteine, quale il recettore per l'ossitocina, induce proliferazione o inibizione della crescita di cellule neoplastiche;
- studio dello sviluppo del cervelletto e caratterizzazione dei fattori implicati nei diversi stadi del processi differenziativo dei granuli;
- regolazione dell'espressione dei fattori di trascrizione Phox2A e Phox2B, essenziali per lo sviluppo dei gangli del Sistema Nervoso Autonomo, e chiarimento del significato della loro persistenza anche nel Sistema Nervoso adulto. Queste ricerche contribuiranno allo sviluppo di nuove strategie terapeutiche per il controllo della progressione neoplastica e al possibile controllo farmacologico di patologie correlate ad un difettoso sviluppo del sistema nervoso.
